TTR73 ÖBB EC Cabride+ part 2 St.Pölten to Linz.  The first part of our journey was along the classic Westbahn, though we saw the preparation for the New Westbahn, in the section near Vienna which will be the most expensive and the last to be completed. West of St Pölten however most of the work has been finished- a 250kph super railway that runs for the most part along side the classic route, with few sound screens between the railways you get to see everything!  The section includes: Melk, Ybbs, Amstetten, St Valentin and Enns - all have freight facilities you can clearly see as we rush through. We set off early from Vienna so many of the trains we pass are overnight services from Austria's neighbours.  These include: EN 491 Hans Albers, EN 229 the Donau Spree Kurier,  and even the Orient Express from Paris! The approach to Linz will amaze you-  freight facilities everywhere!
