JT2 takes in the highlights of a weekend at Zell am See- a stunning location on the "all Austria" route between Vienna and Innsbruck. A large part of the rail action is transit freight but there are also OBB OEC ICs and the classic 4010 high-speed trains of the 1980s. Adjacent to the main line is the SMLB 760mm steam line- the Pinzgaubahn to Krimml - quite a mix! Our second location is Villach on the international route to Italy and Slovenia. Again there is considerable transit freight including FIAT cars from Poland to Italy and RoLa traffic to the Balkans. Our third location is around Ebenfurth the transfer station between the OBB and the GySEV - very cosmopolitan! We see modern GySEV traction and some old V series electrics that were obtained from MAV. We move on to the Ostbahn around Parndorf for traffic to Hungary and Slovakia, and finally to the Nordbahn for traffic to the Czech Republic. RT60 mins
