Finland’s railways are the nearest thing you will find to Russian railways without going to Russia! The track gauge is 5’ the same as Russia, electrification is 25kv, same as Russia and loading gauge is vast – the same as Russia. However the country is a modern pluralistic democracy, a member of the EC, and a wealthy country – wealth derived from high-tech at one end of the spectrum and primary industries at the other. We visit Helsinki, a lovely small city with an amazing tram network, Tampere the freight cross-roads of Finland and Joensuu at the eastern side of the Finish Lake district near the Russian border. We show you the Helsinki tram system, the refurbished main station Helsinki C, the Russian trains (conventional and the modern Allegro) new IC2s, Pendolinos, wide bodied FLIRTS. At Tampere we visit the classification yard, and view fright trains from the top of the 500 foot Näsinneula tower. RT 80 mins Filmed in HD

Faulty items If an item is found to be faulty or incorrect please contact us to arrange a return. If the item is faulty a replacement will be sent, if the item is not what you ordered, the correct one will be sent.
