TTR138 Sweden - west coast.Welcome to Sweden with Ticket to Ride. We start our exploration of the west coast at Halmstad, a major and growing car import terminal, then along the coast to Varberg with its imposing fortress. Freight trains run along a separate inland alignment through ?storp while passenger traffic traverses a series of new lines built between 1990 and 2009. The major city on the west coast is Gothenburg. We look at the town and its tramways and the port- the busiest container port in Scandinavia -before heading further north along the line towards Oslo, making stops at Lilla Edet ? Tork paper, and Trollh?tten ? SAAB. This line is being rebuilt to double track and high speed with new stations. We return to Gothenburg via the port town of Uddevalla and Stenungsund where the coastline is penetrated by fjords just like Norway! We conclude by looking at the main line east of Gothenburg to Sk?vde with calls along the way, including Mariestad for white goods manufacturer Electrolux. Filmed in High Definition. Narrated RT 85 mins.
