The Gothenburg mainline, V?stra Stambana in Swedish, is a very high quality railway. Double track or better throughout. The maximum speed over the line is a rather quirky 204 kph, 200 kph in practice though we have noticed the driver used the extra few kilometres per hour to make up time. A highlight is the run alongside Lake Aspen and the dash through the forest that follows. Filmed in High Definition under lovely blue skies a perfect Scandinavian morning.
